Author Copyright Retention

Authors publishing in JEMS retain full copyright in their work. Upon acceptance, authors grant JEMS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, transmit, and archive the article. This licence does not restrict the author's ability to reuse their work elsewhere.

Creative Commons Licence

All articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Under CC BY 4.0, any person or organisation is free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially

Provided appropriate credit is given and a link to the licence provided. Full licence terms: creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions to reproduce third-party copyrighted material. Written permissions must be obtained prior to submission.

Preprints

JEMS permits and encourages authors to post preprint versions on recognised servers such as SSRN, arXiv, or OSF Preprints. Authors should update the preprint record with a link to the published version upon acceptance.
